Ordering from the EU

9Barista is based in the UK and the UK left the EU on the 1st of January this year. We will do everything we can to continue to offer our services to our fellow Europeans, just as we did before.

For orders placed in 2020:

The good news is that for most of our customers in the EU who placed their orders in 2020, there will be no additional costs or charges. The payments for those orders were inclusive of VAT, so we will pass that along on your behalf. You will not be charged VAT a second time.

For orders placed in 2021:

There will be no import duty for any of our EU customers. The UK and the EU have a free trade agreement.

The only significant change that affects us is VAT. In the past, EU customers paid the 20% UK VAT rate and our prices included that fee. Now our customers in the EU will be required to pay VAT at their local country’s rate instead. You can look up your country’s VAT rate here.

For now, our prices exclude local VAT for EU customers. Our couriers (DHL, DPD, local postal delivery) will contact you to arrange payment of VAT. They may also charge a small administrative fee in the region of 10 – 20 Euro. In the future, we hope to be able to include VAT in our prices to some or all EU countries, but that’s not something we’re able to do at the moment.
