Refund policy

Your 9Barista has been designed, manufactured and tested with care and with longevity in mind. It’s important that you follow the instructions included with your machine; if you look after your 9Barista and use it properly it should last you a lifetime.

If you have any trouble with your 9Barista, please send an email to hello@9barista.com and we’ll do what we can to get you back on track. Please include a complete description of any problems you’re having, including photos or videos as well as the serial number of your machine (you’ll find this engraved on its base). 

Warranty - 9Barista Mk.1

We offer a two year warranty on machine parts and labour for new machines, on all non-consumable parts. This is reduced to one year for refurbished machines. This excludes normal wear and tear, as well as any damage caused by accident, abuse or incorrect use.

Our warranty terms exclusively cover manufacturing defects in non-consumable parts. The following are not covered: 

  • Damage due to normal wear and tear 

  • Damage caused by accident, abuse or incorrect use 

  • Machines with non-OEM parts or components

We consider the following parts consumables:

  • All o-ring seals (one spare boiler o-ring is included as standard)
  • Safety ring (one spare safety ring is included as standard)

Warranty - 9Barista Mk.2

We offer an extended five year warranty on the 9Barista Mk.2 machine parts and labour for new machines, on all non-consumable parts. 

Our warranty terms exclusively cover manufacturing defects in non-consumable parts. The following are not covered: 

  • Damage due to normal wear and tear 

  • Damage caused by accident, abuse or incorrect use 

  • Machines with non-OEM parts or components

We consider the following parts consumables:

  • All o-ring seals (one spare boiler o-ring is included as standard)

  • Safety ring (one spare safety ring is included as standard)

Under normal use these consumable parts should last many years, but it is possible that over time they may need replacing. Any damage, wear or issues with these parts is not covered under our warranty. 

If you have a problem with your machine, please follow the support instructions above. If we determine that your machine is faulty and eligible for a warranty repair or replacement, we will co-ordinate the process with you over email.

If we ask you to send your 9Barista back to us for repair, we’ll cover your postage if the repair is covered under warranty. Otherwise we ask that you pay that cost – we suggest you chose an insured and tracked postage service as we can’t replace any machines that are lost in the post.

Please make sure that the 9Barista is suitably packaged for delivery. Damage caused in transit due to inadequate packaging will not be covered by us.

Third party products not manufactured by 9Barista are subject to the manufacturer's warranty, and are not guaranteed by 9Barista.

Non-transferability of Warranty

This warranty is provided exclusively to the original purchaser of the machine and is not transferable. It applies only to machines purchased directly from 9Barista or from an authorised reseller. Proof of purchase may be required to validate warranty claims.

Returns

If you’re not happy with your 9Barista – for whatever reason – you can return it for a refund if you notify us within 30 days of receiving your machine. It must then be returned within 30 days of this notification.

Orders that were made to your specification, such as custom engravings and some pre-orders, cannot be returned for a refund.

Please contact hello@9barista.com with proof of your original order, and we’ll get the process started. To be eligible for a return, your item must be returned in the same condition that you received it – it’s OK if you’ve used it, but it must not be damaged. It must also be in the original packaging. Once we receive your machine, we will refund the full cost of your order and the original shipping costs, although we will not cover the shipping cost of returning your machine to us.

You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot process your return if we don’t receive your machine or if it’s damaged in the post. As such, it's important that you package your machine safely. If you would like to use FedEx to return your machine we can provide a returns label at a reduced cost.

Third party products

Third Party Products without factory seals:

Third party products without factory seals may be returned for a refund under either of the following conditions, and within 30 days of receipt or ordering:

  • Undamaged and in original undamaged packaging

  • Faulty or not as described*

Factory-Sealed Third Party Products:

Some of our third-party products are supplied with a factory seal. Breaking this seal will impact the product’s eligibility for a return, as follows:

  • Unbroken Seal: If the factory seal is intact, the product is eligible for a refund within the 30 day return period.

  • Broken Seal: Once the factory seal is broken, the product will no longer be eligible for a refund unless it is faulty or not as described.

Refunds will be completed once we have received and assessed the returned product. If our assessment differs from the reason for return, we have the right to change the refund accordingly.

*Not as described in this context would mean the functionality of the product differs from what was described, but minor aesthetic differences are acceptable.

Please note, we are not able to refund the cost of any duty or tax that was paid on your order in the case of a return. While duty and tax is included on machine orders (except to the United States), it is passed on directly to the customs office in the destination country. To reclaim this, you will need to speak with your local customs office. We can provide you with documentation to enable you to show the customs office that your order has been returned, but we cannot guarantee that duty, tax or any other fees will be refunded.
